Every spring, 50 of the greatest athletes in the sport converge to the beautiful City of Charleston and Daniel Island, South Carolina for one of the richest and most traditional events in women's professional tennis.
Since 1973, Family Circle magazine has lead the way in achieving recognition, equality, and respect for women's tennis by remaining the lead sponsor of the Family Circle Cup, a 37-year tournament with no shortage of historical moments and legendary players.
At Mohawk, we are honored to join this prestigious legacy and take part in the 2010 Family Circle Cup.
Beginning April 10 through April 18, Mohawk will be on hand as ESPN2 covers the world-class action as one of the twenty Premier Events on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour:

On Wednesday, April 14th, Mohawk presents Mohawk Family Night taking place on the Grand Lawn. HGTV Contractor and Mohawk Handyman Chip Wade will help ring in a night of fun and family-friendly activities including bowling, races, and balloon bursts actually taking place on SmartStrand with DuPont Sorona carpet! Chip will then lead an on-site clean-up of this very same SmartStrand carpet after the activities are finished to prove just how remarkable this amazing carpet's properties really are.
Mohawk will also prove the durability of SmartStrand by carpeting the stadium entrance and exit walkways, subjecting it to approximately 90,000 people over the course the week. During the tournament, fans and spectators can visit the Mohawk booth featuring SmartStrand Sorona on sponsors row. In addition to information and plenty of SmartStrand to touch, there will be special giveaways and promotions all week long!

For the fifth consecutive year, The Center for Women has been selected as the Family Circle Cup tournament’s official charity.
With a mission statement to “make personal and professional success an everyday event for women”, The Center for Women represents the only comprehensive women’s development center in South Carolina.
Special fundraising events at this year’s tournament will include A Conversation About Women and Power, Family Circle Cup C4W Luncheon, and Family Circle Cup C4W Charity Auctions.
