Creating this garland will require the following: a drill with a 1/4 inch drill bit, sturdy string, a long leather or needlepoint needle, lemon leaves or other leaves, stone fruits and a variety of nuts.
Before stringing your gathered materials, carefully drill a hole through the center of the plums and nuts assortment.
Cut and thread a string onto a needle and securely tie a knot at the opposite end, use three feet of string. You can also use a thin leather strap instead of string.
Roll of top edge of a lemon leaf over itself twice and push the needle through carefully on the string.
Next, string a walnut towards the knotted end. Follow this with another rolled leaf, then a plum and rolled leaf. You can substitute this pattern for your own. Another pattern to try is chestnut, cranberry, cranberry, chestnut.
We recommend that you use plums sparingly as they are heavy and can weigh down your garland. To make a longer garland simply string a few finished garlands together.
